ENDORSED!
The Foreign Mission Panel recently
voted to endorse “Project Timothy,” the church planting plan of the
Sterling, Ohio GBC and Tubalina, Brazil GBC. Three church
planters who submitted written plans were endorsed. They are Egon
Paulitzch (pictured left), Jusleimar de Silva
(center)
and Magno de Alcantara (pictured
with his family on the right). Below is a recent report of
Magno's endeavors:
Peace
and Grace to my Brethren in Christ:
Already a month has passed since we began to really work the plan in
the Lord's harvest. Never before has Matthew 13 been so alive and
real in my mind. So that you can be praying for this ministry, I
want to give you some details of our strategy.
Sowing:
For a
week we presented the "Signs of the Gospel of John" (knocking from
door to door) 18 hours.
Soils: (by the
wayside and among thorns)
When
we offer the tracts it is rare that people refuse them. But when we
return the next day to know if the folks read them, the people
respond in various ways:
“No,
I will read it some day.”
“I
didn't have time.”
“No,
but I do my religious obligations.”
“No,
I worked the whole day and didn't have time.”
During the week, the people keep working on a relationship. After a
week, we speak of the love of God and give our testimony, inviting
them to study the Word of God, to know God more deeply.
Soil (shallow
and good soil)
We
follow up with responsive folks from house to house studying John
3. We try to set up a weekly study on the Purpose of Life.
Statistical Data:
60
people took the tract (Signs)
12
people studied John 3
4
people began the Purpose of Life study
(Alessandra,
Cida, Eliane, Luciana).
Joys:
Alexsandra with all of her chores at home has gone out with me both
to evangelize and to study with the women. The children also have
helped us to "break the ice" when we are passing out the tracts.
I
rejoice to see God working in my own family and in the lives of
those who are seeking God.
