God brought the Orrville Grace Brethren Church into existence for the purpose of:

EXALTING our Lord Jesus Christ
EVANGELIZING the world
EDIFYING and EQUIPPING Christians for service

 

EXALTING

This happens through daily personal and family time in prayer and searching the Scriptures. This happens corporately as the family of God gathers together (Acts 2:41-47; Proverbs 8:34-36; John 4:24; Hebrews 10:24-25).

 

EVANGELIZING

This happens through each person's personal witness to the world; through mission team efforts; and ultimately in church planting (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts).

 

EDIFYING

This follows worship of God. We are to love each other, encourage the fainthearted, admonish the unruly, and build each other up (John 13:35; 1 Thess. 5:11-14; Hebrews 10:24-25).

 

EQUIPPING

The role of the elders is to train God's people to serve Him. Preaching, teaching, Bible study, and prayer are the means (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:11-16).
