My
Awards and other accomplishments
OK, so maybe I'm tootin' my horn a little bit here, but I what the heck. After 25+ years in the SCA, I guess I'm just proud of everything I have accomplished and how it's basically made me a better person over all. I've learned things I never thought I would learn, traveled literally hundreds of thousands of miles across the United States, met people from every walk of life and had a grand ol' time doing it all.
So here are my SCA awards:
The
Order of the Evergreen, given at Crown Tournament in the Barony of
Fenix on May 25, 2003 by the hand of TRMs Pieter and Nan Astrid, for teaching
and skill in calligraphy and illumination.
The
Order of the Dragon's Heart, given at Pennsic 25 on August 14, 1996 by
the hand of TRMs Edmund and Kateryn, for long and varied service to the
Middle Kingdom.
The
Award of the Purple Fret, given at Baronial Birthday Bash on February 19,
1994, by the hand of TRMs Jafar and Catherine, for service as Minister
of Sciences of the Marche of Gwyntarian.
The
Order of the Willow, given at Michaelmas on September 29, 1979, by the
hand of TRMs Laurelen and Ithriliel, for skill and teaching of calligraphy
and illumination.
And finally, an Award of Arms, given by the hand of TRM's Laurelen and Ithriliel at an event in the now defunct March of the Iron Demon (mundanely Youngstown, OH) on June 9, 1979, for service to the Marche of Gwyntarian. Coincidentally, it was also the day I graduated from Kent State University with a B.A. degree in Theatre Arts. Yes, I was there to receive my AoA, as I went to Commencement in the morning and high-tailed it to the event afterwards!
